Candidate for NEASC Accreditation

Purpose:

The goals of accreditation are effectiveness, improvement, and public assurance. Accreditation relies on a voluntary, peer review process, engaging some 3,400 educators in the region on hundreds of reviews in any year. A self-study process of 12-18 months is undertaken by schools in regular review cycles. Unlike popular magazines, this does not involve ranking schools, but rather establishes a level of acceptable quality for all accredited schools.

Benefits:

NEASC accreditation attests to:

  • Substantial compliance with established qualitative standards;
  • Integrity in statements to the public describing the school’s program;
  • School commitment to improvement;
  • Sufficiency of institutional resources.

NEASC Accreditation is a system of accountability that is:

  • Ongoing, voluntary, and comprehensive in scope.
  • It respects differences in institutional populations, missions, and cultures, and fosters institutional change grounded in the judgment of practicing educators.
  • It is based on standards which are developed and regularly reviewed by the members and which define the characteristics of good schools and colleges.

NEASC Development Day #1 - 11/28/11:

The entire faculty and staff spent this day discussing and developing our self study plan, which is expected to continue throughout the school year.  We followed up on plans and strategies based on the recommendations of the initial visiting team's report from Fall 2010. A family survey was published and prepared to share with the parent body within one week.  Results of this survey will provide us with community information to help further our academic excellence.

NEASC Development Day #2 - 1/2/12:
